🌍🏆 Team Fishnergy Wins the Special Award for Research Excellence at the SDG Olympiad 2025 in Geneva
From October 10-13, 2025, team Fishnergy proudly represented the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the TUM SEED Center at the SDG Olympiad 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland. Competing among innovative student teams from around the world, Fishnergy presented their project that transforms fish waste into biogas electricity - powering cold storage facilities, extending food shelf life, and reducing carbon emissions.
We are delighted to announce that Fishnergy received the Special Award for Research Excellence, recognizing their outstanding scientific contribution and innovative approach to sustainable energy solutions.
The team was represented in person by Adela Putri, who pitched the project on site in Geneva, with invaluable online support from teammates Joana Prah, Evelyn Boateng, Marie Zidouemba, and Agnes Adjei, who joined remotely.

From the International Summer School to the SDG Olympiad
Fishnergy’s journey began at the TUM SEED Center International Summer School 2025: Sustainable Energies and Entrepreneurship, where the team’s innovative idea first took shape. By winning the Summer School’s entrepreneurship competition, Fishnergy earned the opportunity to represent TUM SEED Center at the SDG Olympiad in Geneva — and turned that opportunity into international recognition.
We at the TUM SEED Center congratulate Team Fishnergy on this remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing how their idea continues to grow and inspire sustainable solutions worldwide 💚
