The TUM SEED Center proudly congratulates Dr.-Ing. Mohammad Javad Bardi on the successful defense of his doctoral thesis on Friday, 10 October 2025.
Dissertation title:
Advancing Anaerobic Digestion – From Pre-treatment to Applying Additives: Investigating the Synergistic Effects of Hydrostatic Pressure in Ultrasonic Pretreatment, Biochar, Micronutrients, and CO₂ Enrichment
In his research, Dr. Bardi explored practical strategies to enhance anaerobic digestion (AD) performance through innovative approaches such as targeted pretreatment, biochar amendments, micronutrient management, and CO₂ enrichment. His findings highlight how pressure-assisted ultrasonication, biochar properties, and micronutrient bioavailability can significantly improve energy recovery and methane yields, offering new pathways toward more efficient and sustainable biogas systems.
This achievement marks a special milestone for the SEED Center – Dr. Bardi is the first doctoral candidate from the first funding phase to successfully defend his Doctoral Title.
We warmly congratulate Dr. Bardi and wish him all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his professional journey.
