We’re happy to spread the word for our friends at CES CARES. The latest issue of the CES CARES Newsletter (Oct–Dec 2025) focuses on strengthening and scaling decentralized energy, powered livelihoods across India and Africa. It highlights how clean energy solutions, combined with skills development and market linkages, can support women and youth entrepreneurs, deepen local value chains, and build more resilient rural enterprises.
This edition shares updates on context-appropriate DRE livelihood machines across agriculture, agro-processing, textiles, and irrigation in India and Zambia. It also features the Eden Resource Center in Tuensang (Nagaland) as a Rural Experience Centre where decentralized renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and enterprise development are demonstrated in practice.
Further stories spotlight women-led livelihood ecosystems, including progress around Eri silk and stitching hubs in Meghalaya, as well as training and mentoring approaches that help micro-enterprises become more market-linked. The issue also reflects on India-Africa exchange on mini-grids and productive use of energy, and shares international recognition at the IEEE “Empower a Billion Lives” 2025 competition for Circular Productive Use of Energy (Circular PUE) innovation.
