The International Summer School 2026, Empowering Tomorrow: Sustainable Energies and Entrepreneurship, has officially begun at the TUM School of Management.

From July 13 to 24, 25 participants from universities around the world will come together in Munich to explore how sustainable energy challenges can be addressed through entrepreneurial thinking and practical business solutions. Six participants are joining from five universities in the TUM SEED network: the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Stellenbosch University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and Makerere University.

Over the course of two weeks, participants will take part in academic sessions, practical workshops, and team-based activities covering sustainable entrepreneurship, energy systems, business models, impact measurement, storytelling, and pitching. Working in international teams, they will develop and refine their own sustainable business ideas before presenting them at the end of the program.

The Summer School began on Sunday with the participants’ arrival in Munich, where they were welcomed at the airport by the TUM SEED Center team. On Monday, the program was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Christoph Kaserer, Dean of the TUM School of Management, and Prof. Dr. Frank-Martin Belz, Director of the TUM SEED Center.

Following the opening, participants began their first sessions on sustainable entrepreneurship and sustainable business models. The first day will conclude with a guided city tour, giving the group an opportunity to get to know Munich and one another beyond the classroom.
