The seminar explores how sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities are recognized, developed, and scaled in the context of the global energy transition. Through a combination of theoretical foundations and practical applications, students learn how to analyze sustainable energy enterprises and develop innovative solutions that create measurable impact.
As part of the course, the seminar group will participate in the Off-Grid Expo + Conference 2025, taking place in Augsburg from 30-31 October 2025. The event provides a unique platform where academia and industry come together to exchange ideas on technologies and business models for inclusive and sustainable energy access.
Following the conference, the seminar will continue under the guidance of Dr. Alessia Argiolas, whose research focuses on social and sustainable enterprises, social impact, and entrepreneurship in the Global South and the energy sector. In the second part of the seminar, students will delve deeper into how entrepreneurial thinking can transform sustainability challenges into impactful ventures.
The Advanced Seminar “Sustainable Energy Entrepreneurship” forms part of TUM’s broader commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development through interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.
